چکیده
The seismic response of acceleration-sensitive non-structural components in buildings has attracted the attention a significant number researchers over past decade. This paper provides results which improve state-of-knowledge influences that higher vibration modes structures and nonlinearity have on floor acceleration demands. In order to study these influences, response-history analysis code-designed twelve-storey reinforced concrete building consisting uncoupled ductile cantilever shear walls was conducted. obtained absolute accelerations were used as input for linear elastic nonlinear represented by simple single-degree-of-freedom systems, main observations findings related studied along height are presented discussed. Additionally, accuracy method direct determination peak (acceleration) spectra recently co-developed first author once again investigated validated. A brief summary is provided paper, with steps its application. Being relatively sufficiently accurate, (in simplified form) been incorporated into draft new generation Eurocode 8.

Reliability-based Seismic Assessment of Asymetric Multi-storey Buildings with Rc Shear Walls
The performance of buildings subjected to earthquake loads has shown that asymmetric structures are caused more extensive damages in comparison with symmetric structures. Hence, the seismic performance of asymmetric structures should be assessed due to future random earthquakes. Reliability-based seismic assessment as one of the tools in performance-based earthquake engineering has been introdu...
متن کاملeffect of shear wall cracking on soft storey phenomenon
according to the iranian code of practice for seismic resistant design of buildings, soft storey phenomenon happens in a storey when the lateral stiffness of the storey is lower than 70% of the stiffness of the upper storey, or if it is lower than 80% of the average stiffness of the three upper stories. in the combined structural systems containing moment frames and shear walls, it is possible ...
متن کاملEvaluation of Seismic Vulnerability of Reinforced Concrete Buildings Adjacent to the Deep Excavations
In this study, the effect of deep excavation on the seismic response of RC moment resisting building systems has been studied. Deep excavation can cause significant changes in the stress and strain levels of soil environment and also changes in the propagation of seismic waves. This leads to permanent displacements in the foundation system. In this study, three RC building systems, i.e. 5, 10, ...
متن کاملstrengthening of slender rc shear wall with frp sheets
concrete shear walls are the most prevalent structural systems resisting lateral loads due to earthquakes in high-rise buildings. very large in-plane stiffness of shear walls provides an excellent drift control in the structure. however, structural damages and early code shortcomings threaten the efficiency of existing structural walls against earthquake. recently, fiber reinforced polymer (frp...
متن کاملEffect of seismic sequences on fragility of Iranian code-conforming shear wall RC buildings
Background and objective: Estimating the vulnerability rate of urban textures in seismic incident following a major earthquake (aftershocks) is crucial in decision making and crisis management. For this purpose, it is necessary to calculate the vulnerability of buildings due to the successive incidents and to use them in the vulnerability estimation for probable future aftershocks. Seismic frag...
